Jayde Biggert, MSW
Jayde Biggert, MSW is originally from South Africa but grew up in eSwatini. Navigating the United States as an international student developed her interest in immigration and human rights advocacy. After receiving a BA in Psychology and French from Bates College, she began her career at the Maine Immigrants’ Rights Coalition collaborating with state departments and community-based organizations to empower Maine’s immigrant communities. While completing her MSW degree at New York University, she worked with immigrant youth in therapeutic and advocacy roles. She provided therapeutic counseling to adolescents at the International Rescue Committee, and assisted service providers working with youth at the intersection of the child welfare and immigration systems at The Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights. Jayde is also an Adaptive Leadership Fellow at NYU Silver School of Social Work, where she combines her direct service experience and interest in immigrant rights advocacy to drive efforts of social change.
